Reviews about VCA Canada Calgary North Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Service
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My family and I had to make the difficult decision to put our dog to sleep tonight. Though I wouldn't wish this on anyone, I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was extremely accommodating and our vet, Dr. Samantha Foster, was absolutely incredible. The sensitivity and care she put into our situation was outstanding. It wasn't just a job to her, she genuinely cared. She stroked his paw and ears and spoke soft reassuring words to him. With each step of the process, she asked us if we were ok and ready. While we said our goodbyes, she stood outside the room and waited for us to take our time. We were never rushed. Thank you, Dr. Foster. You made this heart breaking night so much more bearable.by Allyne BailyOctober 20, 2017
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪This clinic does not genuinely care about your pet's health, but only for monetary gains. They took advantage of people like myself, by pushing the most expensive option to treat my cat which was about 5k for surgery, put him down, or spend 1500 on a procedure that might work but did mention that it was likely unsuccessful. We went with the $1500 option, and the next morning he was back to square one having the same symptoms as before he was taken into emergency. For a company like VCA, who mentioned to put my cat down as an option is outrageous. He is only a year old, and has no health problems other than a blocked urinary system. When I had a question regarding the surgery (if he needed it) right away Dr. Fischer asked, "is the price something to be concerned about?" As a business, you NEVER ask questions like this and second you don't ask me to put my cat down right away as an option, especially when he's so young. Its like they just want to put pets down or want you to go with the most expensive option, and then move on. This is what I mean when I said that they simply don't care about whats best for your pet. In the end, my cat had to go to another vet for emergency for another blocked urinary track. They did not charge me outrageous fees, and had fantastic reviews. VCA did not go above and beyond at all like this other clinic.by Carmen MachAugust 04, 2017
